Pop! goes Palace Electric’s party!

It’s been hilariously billed as the party even Brad wouldn’t want to miss. On Friday night Palace Electric plays host to the after-party for the launch of the NGA’s latest exhibition: Roy Lichtenstein.
For those not familiar with the great American pop-artist, think flat, graphic framing with dramatic scenes that made the viewer question the value of comic books as a true art medium.
So, following the invite-only launch at the National Gallery of Australia Palace Electric is hosting a soiree not limited to the the cinemas themselves, but will spill around the Grand Stairwell that leads up to the soon-to-be-opened Hotel Hotel. You can kick back with a cocktail or kick up your heels with some Prosecco. Everyone’s a winner on a Friday afternoon – especially with pop-rock band Fun Machine, improv jazz band Xavier Dunn and the best, or maybe worst, music of the pop art ere via DJ DEGG.
There will be prizes for the best dressed boy and girl and Ben Day dot painting. Good times! Canapes will be handed around, and audaciously-coloured cocktails will keep you in fine form for your Friday – especially if you’re kicking on from Happy Hour in the Prosecco Bar.
