The Handmade Fashion & Food Market

Oh, you Canberran’s – you’re a talented lot! When not curating catwalk-worthy outfits out of your home studios, you’re whipping up all manner of trinkets and artworks for sale in the always fabulous Handmade Store.

This weekend, it’s bigger and better for everyone as Canberra’s Kitchen Creators arrive en-masse for the bi-annual Handmade Fashion and Food Market – and it’s delicious!

Handmade Market - Silk Diva

So, if FashFest has whetted your appetite for some more local fashion, head on down The National Convention Centre this weekend from 10.00am until 4.00pm on Saturday 4th May for everything from handmade boots and shoes to vintage clothing and high end fashion – all made here in Canberra!

We’ve always found Handmade Shop one of the best places to pick up gifts in a hurry. With Mother’s Day a week away, you have the perfect opportunity to browse over 100 stalls to find the perfect give for your Number 1. Mum. Also, you could be in the running to win a Styling Session to the value of $1,500. The prize consists of a hair and make-up session from Hair Flair Dickson, a stylist session from Closet Voyage where you choose an outfit from Librarian Chic, a photo of you in your new outfit by Raymond Mac Neil photography and, last but not least, a teeth whitening package from Signature Smiles. It’s the complete package really!

Handmade Market - Evyie

Entry is free, but if you can find a few gold coins swimming in the bottom of your bag, Handamde is collecting donations on behalf of Bosom Buddies, a local outfit who work hard to help those affected by breast cancer and their families. A worthy cause and you’ll feel virtuous – so everyone’s a winner.

See you there!
