Dan Armstrong and Nick Robinson both completed degrees in Industrial Design at the University of Canberra and have been working together as a design team for over ten years. Their joint venture incorporates product and graphic design development, research, sketching, 3D high-end rendering, tooling, and manufacture ranging from one off design pieces to mass produced appliances. Armstrong and Robinson have extensive design industry experience at the highest levels.

They have worked in research and development for major appliance company Breville and have received national and international design accolades for their work including an Australian International Design Award for the Breville ‘Smart Grill’
2008; Red Dot Award for the Breville ‘Professional Class’ toaster and
as finalists for the Australian Design Awards
2005. Their design process goes from response to the brief including sketching and prototyping; to quality control requiring frequent travel overseas, mainly to China to oversee production lines; to completion. Armstrong and Robinson are also highly regarded for their patented Bottles of Australia water bottle and carrier used at the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

In their own words:

We are CHIPTOOTH Design, a product (and graphic) design studio. From the bespoke to the mass-produced, we create brilliant solutions to design problems with the user as our primary focus.
