It’s a Private Affair: Dr Sketchy’s Anti-Art Class
by The Editor
The Canberran’s guide to the exotic Miss Kitka has informed us that (finally!) the underground movement Dr Sketchy’s Art Class is coming to Canberra. Originating in New York in 2005, the idea of creating a social event out of a little bit of burlesque combined with life drawing, drinks and food has made its way across the US, Europe, South America and even the Philippines. Very soon Canberrans will have the opportunity to participate.
Spend three hours watching burlesque performances, sketching Annabelle (pictured above) and Cherry Blossom (below) as they pose for your delight, while drinking fine wines and enjoying complimentary canapes. Burlesque will be performed by Cherry Blossom and Deb Delicious. It’s all happening at the Tuggeranong Arts Centre on Friday 1 June.
There are only 50 tickets available for this premiere Canberra Event, so get busy and contact Moshtix here before they are all disappear.
If you’re keen to learn more about the movement, and whether you think it’s the event for you (and believe me, you might be surprised), check out the FAQs at the official Dr Sketchy website. You don’t have to be a professional artist, just possess an adventurous mind.
Go on, give in to temptation…
