What’s Happening at HonkyTonks?

by The Editor

Quite a bit, it would appear.

Update (1.00pm Wednesday 14 March): The organisers have emailed to let us know a change of date has occurred since the original press release was distributed. It’s now Wednesday 21 March as advertised in the flyer below.

Wednesday 21 March sees the launch of a somewhat different project for the cheeky, little inner-city bar. Rather than just a venue for selling fine quality liquor, the lads have instigated ourclothes.com.au with an eye to (we imagine) engaging local artists, brand developers and fashion designers to enhance the sartorial standards of the local citizens.

Is that what it is all about? We’re not too sure, but the poster below tends to suggest this is the strategy.

So there it is. Get down to Honkytonks from 7pm to see what all the fuss is about. We at The Canberran certainly encourage any efforts to raise the fashion stakes around our beloved city.

But wait…there’s more. The bar is also offering up its walls for local artists to display 2D works. With the recent addition of a picture rail around the perimeter of the blank walls within the Honkys, opprotunities exist for those keen to get their name out to submit proposals to the delightful Geraut St Jean Michel via thewall@drinkhonkytonks.com.au. The best news? No fees, no commissions.

What are you waiting for? Hop to it, Canberrans.

See you on the 21st.
